Wednesday 22 Mar 2017

So you’ve checked out our programs and made the decision that one of them is right for you. Congrats, that’s a first big step on the path towards reaching your career goals.

Before you register, please make sure that your current computer and internet access meets our minimum specification; otherwise you could need to upgrade your system. Just for the record, our specification is really quite low and can be met using an older computer.  That being said, please be sure to check the specs below carefully so that you don’t get any surprises.

Here is our minimum technical requirement to enroll in a GBCtechtraining program:

1. Students must have access to a PC computer

Please be aware that our programs are compatible only with computers running the full version of the Windows Operating System, (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10). Unfortunately they are not compatible with Mac computers or tablets, Chromebooks or computers running Linux.

2. Minimum computer configuration

In order to efficiently access the curriculum material, the Resource Center and all other associated program materials, we recommend your computer meet or exceed the following specifications:

USB Port or CD/DVD Drive & Sound Card

Processor: Intel Pentium or equivalent

Memory: 32 MB RAM (64 MB recommended)

Storage: 100 MB available disk space

Operating System: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10

32 and 64 bit compatible

Internet Access

Email Account

3. Web Browser

You must use Internet Explorer to operate within our online exam system. Unfortunately, you may not use any other browser, including Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. Our online exams require ActiveX control to load and only Internet Explorer supports ActiveX. You can learn more about setting up your computer's regional and, security settings in Internet Explorer and how to turn off your Pop-up Blocker in our related blog How Do I Write an Exam?.
