George Brown College offers 5 online technical training programs that are eligible for the Canada-Aberta Jobs Training Grant.

What is the Canada-Alberta Job Grant?

It is a new grant that provides training subsidies for Alberta companies to help train existing or new employees to develop new skills.

What costs does the grant pay for?

Employers need to cover a minimum of one third of training costs. The grant will pay for two thirds of the costs of the training, up to a maximum of $10,000 in government contributions.

Canada-Alberta Job Grant Applicant Guide (PDF)

  • Companies should submit applications at least 30 days before the start of the training.
  • Applicants cannot apply more than six months in advance of the training start date. 
  • Once approved, the company may register trainees in the training program and pay the total approved training costs.

Canada-Alberta Job Grant Training Reimbursement Form (PDF)

  • Apply for first reimbursement; applicants will receive reimbursement for one-third of total eligible training costs. This amount represents the first half of the grant. 
  • This reimbursement request must be received and date stamped no later than 30 days after a trainee has completed the final exam

 Canada Alberta Job Grant Training Completion Form (PDF)

  • Immediately after training is complete the applicant must the Training Completion Form
  • Apply for final reimbursement and must be received no later than 30 days after a trainee has completed the approved training program
