George Brown College Center for Continuous Learning is pleased to announce a collaborative agreement with Neumann University that provides a direct pathway for graduates of our distance education-based, technical training programs into an Accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree with Neumann University.

George Brown College now offers a new advanced PLC certificate, PLC Technician II, covering PLC programming and applications, with targeted training for the Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) Logix 5000 PLC, using the advanced simulator, PLCLogix.

With the integration of the PLCLogix simulator, our program provides a comprehensive introduction to the functionality of advanced PLCs based on the Logix 5000 system, emulating its form, function and feel, to provide a comprehensive, “hands-on” training experience in the next generation of PLC control software.

George Brown College is pleased to announce we have extended the Gbctechtraining Student Support Centre office hours to include Saturdays. The Gbctechtraining Student Support Centre office hours are: Monday - Friday: 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, EST Saturday: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, EST "As our programs continue to grow, we've noticed that our students have been sending us an increasing number of emails, phone messages, support requests and exam submissions over the weekends.

George Brown College is pleased to announce that three of its distance education based technology training programs – Electronics Technician Certificate, Electromechanical Technician Certificate and PLC Technician Certificate - are now approved by the Electronics Technician Association International (ETA) for the purposes of training leading towards their certification as an Electronics Technician Associate.

George Brown College Center for Continuous Learning is pleased to announce the launch of a new online Bachelor of Science, Technology Management degree program in association with Indiana State University, in Terra Haute, Indiana. Students who have completed the Electronics Technician Certificate program (plus 7 General Education courses) through George Brown College, can now directly transfer into the third year of studies at Indiana State University and continue on to complete a 4 year Bachelor of Science degree.

Click here to view demo One of the primary advantages to using simulation tools when working with circuit design is that the virtual environment allows the user a means of experimentation and analysis without risking damage to equipment or personal injury. Students are free to change part values, alter circuit connections, and even cycle through a variety of IC's without risk. The student is able to see the impact of the changes made immediately by re-simulating the circuit under the new conditions. This makes tools of this nature ideal for training and education.

The George Brown College Centre for Continuous Learning is pleased to announce the release of a new version of the computer-based curriculum for the Electronics and Electromechanical Technician Certificate Programs. These computer-based home study programs enable students to study at their own pace, remotely from their own homes, using DVD-based curriculum, a circuit simulator and textbook to master the theory and practice of applied electronics.

The George Brown College Centre for Continuous Learning is pleased to announce the launch of The Robotics Technician Certificate, our newest and most advanced online technical training program. The Robotics Technician Certificate is a computer-based home study program that enables students to study at their own pace, remotely from their own homes, using CD-based curriculum, a robotic simulator and a traditional textbook to master the emerging technology of robotics in manufacturing.
