  • I am currently a Technical Manager for electronics contracting company, specializing in the commercial security and audio industries. I was looking for a comprehensive program that offered the depth of traditional trade training but could be delivered entirely online.

After searching online for a solution that fit my needs, I found this program to be the only one that delivered. I chose this course to back my hands-on experience with a formal training certificate. The curriculum is highly relevant, and it has been a great way to brush up on my knowledge and stay current with industry standards.

  • I work as an Automotive Service Apprentice (Level 3) at a dealership. I joined the program to enhance my professional profile, gain further knowledge, and build upon the skills I previously acquired back home. I searched online for a program that would allow me to gain critical EV skills without compromising my full-time job or income.

I enjoyed the program and each of the modules covered during the training, particularly the sections on the battery Life and performance grading on EV. The resource centre was readily available, both by phone and email.  Their swift responses provided the necessary guidance to prevent any mistakes or confusion.
This program has significantly enhanced my resume. Just a few weeks after my exam, my application was accepted, and I am now officially on track for my Red Seal licensing.

  • As a Curriculum Developer for a public transit agency in Ontario, I design technical training for transit mechanics. I researched EV technician courses and discovered this program because our fleet is currently transitioning to electric vehicle (EV) buses.

The self-guided, remote learning format made it easy to integrate into my busy work schedule. The software provided was very helpful, and I am already applying what I’ve learned to the in-house training programs I develop. Since completing the program, I’ve been assigned as the primary developer for our EV-related programs. My opinions and decisions now carry more weight because they are backed by the specialized knowledge I gained. I am grateful to my employer for their support, as this program aligns perfectly with my professional responsibilities.

  • I currently serve as the Instrumentation & Electrical Superintendent at Force Corporation. I chose the Automation program to deepen my understanding about controls and PLCs. Among the various modules, the motor controls and robotics programming were my favorites. The support I received was excellent. Whenever I called for information, the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Since completing the program, I am now able to troubleshoot complex problems at work.

  • I currently work as a Marine Automation/Maintenance Technician at John Duffy Electrical. My key responsibilities include troubleshooting and performing necessary maintenance on electrical systems to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. I decided to enroll into the Automation Technician Program at George Brown to further my professional development. My goal was to expand on my existing technical knowledge and get a deeper, more specialized understanding of the field.

I first discovered this program in 2024, shortly after relocating to Canada. While adjusting to a new environment, I looked for credible educational opportunities that would help me adapt into the local industry. The standout feature of the program for me was the modules that allow you to work at your own pace. This flexible arrangement enabled me to balance my studies with my full-time work responsibilities without being overwhelmed.

The Resource Centre is an excellent resource for students. Even though I have not personally needed tutoring sessions, it is nice to know that such an effective support system is available for course clarification. I believe that everything learned in the curriculum will be applicable to my work, particularly in the area of Motors and Control Circuits. This will enable me to better understand complex wiring diagrams and troubleshoot PLC-driven automation systems.

Since starting the program, I've grown more efficient and confident in my daily tasks. My technical approach has become more systematic, allowing me to resolve electrical issues faster and with greater accuracy. My current focus is on applying my knowledge and skills to perform well in my current work at John Duffy Electrical.
