Simulation Software

Simulation Software

The cornerstone of the Automation, Electronics, Electromechanical, Robotics, PLC and PLC Technician II programs is the simulation software, which is fully integrated within the learning material and bridges the gap between theoretical and practical usage. The simulation software includes LogixSim for automation simulation, CircuitLogix, 3DLab for electronics and electromechanical simulation, RoboLogix for robotics simulation PLCLogix 500 for PLC simulation in PLC Technician and PLCLogix 5000 in PLC Technician II.

3DLab Circuit Simulation

Integrated within the Electronics and Electromechanical programs the 3DLab simulator is used mainly in the introductory level modules, providing a realistic lab simulation environment for DC circuit experiments. It provides an easy to use and easy to understand introduction to building, testing and visualizing basic electronics circuit.  3D Lab also features a ‘Lab Quiz’ function that allows a student to develop and test their troubleshooting skills.

CircuitLogix Circuit Simulation

Integrated within the Electronics and Electromechanical programs CircuitLogix uses two dimensional, schematic circuit representation in a simulation environment to build, test and troubleshoot more advanced circuits. CircuitLogix allows users to simulate any combination of analog and digital components. Along with the expanded simulation capability, this professional version features a large device library of over 4,000 devices, easy SPICE model import, and no limit on the number of pins for an individual circuit.

PLCLogix 500

Batch mixer applciation

The simulation software, PLCLogix 500, integrated into the PLC Technician program, is designed to emulate the Rockwell (Allen Bradley) series of PLCs. This simulation software which includes over 250 pre-built lab projects, allows the student to develop their programming skills, writing, testing, and de-bugging PLC programs. Essentially the PLCLogix 500 simulates the PLC, ladder rung editor and all the electrical components that have, until now, been required to learn PLC programming and operation. The simulation also enables program to be fully tested offline before they are entered and run in an online ‘real-world’ environment removing safety concerns and possible damage to real equipment.

PLCLogix 5000

The simulation software, PLCLogix 5000, integrated into the PLC Technician program, is designed to emulate the Rockwell (Allen Bradley) 5000 series of PLCs. This simulation software includes approximately 250 pre-built lab projects; including 50 lab projects presented in 10 “real world” 3D PLC application environments. One of the main advantages of using PLCLogix is that it provides much-needed “hands on” experience in the operation of RSLogix and ControlLogix software and hardware.

RoboLogix Simulation

The simulation software, RoboLogix (based on FANUC LR Mate series robots), integrated into the Robotics Technician program, is designed to emulate real-world robotics applications and employs the basic principles common to the vast majority of robots currently in use in the automation industry including Cartesian and SCARA designs. This sophisticated simulator helps students learn the practical side of programming industrial robots in a safe environment. It uses a teach pedant and very common instruction set that may be familiar to those who have already worked on Fanuc and Motoman systems. The 3D simulated training environments included in the program are pick and place, spray painting, conveyor/palletizing and welding applications.

LogixSim Simulation Software

Integrated in the Automation Technician program, LogixSim is a suite of software products that provides “real world” laboratory simulation of electricity, electronics, robotics, and programmable logic controllers. It combines four simulators and offers unlimited possibilities for the design, testing, and  debugging of control devices and automated equipment as well as circuit schematics and systems. From the simplest control circuits to the most complex, LogixSim has the versatility to suit almost any requirement for real-world simulation.
