Monday 23 Feb 2015

As an employer in the manufacturing sector you understand that innovation drives industry and your business. It is becoming more difficult to find workers with the skills today’s jobs demand to match that innovation.  This talent gap poses a direct threat to your company’s bottom line.

George Brown College offers six online Technical Certificate Training programs that can help you meet your training needs and that are eligible for direct funding through the Canada Job Grant.

Our Eligible Program Areas of Study:

What is the Canada Job Grant? The Canada Jobs Grant provides training subsidies to help Canadian companies get more workers trained; both existing employee and new hires. The grant program will run until March 31 2020.

How does it help employers? As plant operations have become increasingly automated, employer’s actual demands for more skilled workers have also increased. The Canada jobs grant enables employers to stretch their investment in their workforce by providing more training to a larger group of their employees.

What costs does it cover? The grant covers up to 2/3 of the cost of training, up to a maximum of $10,000 per grant with Employers contributing the remaining one-third of the training costs.

How to apply? Provinces and Territories across Canada are responsible for the delivery of the Canada Job Grant in their jurisdictions.  Please click on the links below to get more information about the application for your region.  Our Program Advisors can help you understand the application process and point you in the right direction to get started.
